LEAP DAY ON LEAP YEAR

How will you feel celebrating your birthday on the 29th? I just read in today's paper that there are 71 couples planning to tie the knot today in Singapore. One comment I read was:

"It's not a bad idea because it's guaranteed you will celebrate it as it's a significant day when it comes around."

Well, I guess it will surely cut down the cost of celebrating anniversaries as you celebrate 4-in-1.

On another news, Jemaah Islamiah (JI)'s Mas Selamat Kastari's escape had caused massive jam especially around the immigration. It was one of the most serious jams I have ever seen since I moved to JB last year. It is caused by 1 human being. You easily waited a minimum 1 hour more. His ability to escape is still beyond logic to me.

Finally, I got this in my mailbox yesterday:

It was made by Comedy Court (Allan Perera and Indi Nadarajah).

FOOTBALL: TORRES, ETO'O, BORRIELLO, EDUARDO & WOODGATE

Three of them scored a hattrick, one had a miserable broken leg and the other won the English Carling Cup for Tottenham. Of course, there are many who scored braces last weekend. Cristino Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Theo Walcott, James McFadden, Luis Fabiano, Roberto Stellone, Andrea Gasbarroni, Benedict McCarthy, Emanuele Calaiò and Sergio Floccari all scored twice for their respective clubs in the English, Italian and Spanish leagues.

First of all, congratulations to Tottenham for slaying the giant Chelsea and winning the cup! Especially to Juande Ramos who just replaced Martin Jol four months ago. Marvellous! As for man-of-the-match Jonathan Woodgate, I just have to congratulate him for his deserving achievement. He just joined them on 28th January 2008 and barely a month later, yesterday, 24th February 2008, he scored his first ever Tottenham goal as well as the winning goal to lift the League Cup.

Secondly, of course congratulations to Torres, Eto'o and Borriello for their hattricks. Torres' goals will give Benitez more breathing space as he's heavily criticized for Liverpool's poor performance of the past few weeks. Eto'o's goals will give Barcelona more confidence as they close the gap further to lead leaders Real Madrid. Real Madrid lost shamefully to a goal which was taken as fast as possible when their players were still celebrating an offside goal. We'll just have to see how good Schuster is after the season ends as I am still unhappy with Capello's dismiss. As for Borriello, he scored his hattrick for Genoa against Udinese for the 3-5 score.

Finally, hopefully Arsenal can overcome the horror of Eduardo's injury and Eduardo himself will have a speedy recovery.

FOOTBALL: SURPRISES OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The biggest surprise of them all is Liverpool's comfortable 2-0 victory against Italian champions Inter Milan. Well, this match proves yet again there are teams which are meant to perform in Europe and there are teams which are meant to perform domestically. Liverpool again proved their European magic is still shining and Benitez is definitely a much relaxed man after the match. How much I hate him but I think Crouch was the decisive factor in the victory. Although I did not watch the match and cannot comment on the claims of Julio Cesar that Torres dived for the first yellow card which resulted in getting Materazzi sent off.

Other surprises include the 3-2 victory of Fenerbahce against FC Sevilla. Schalke 04's 1-0 victory against FC Porto was another unexpected result. Lyon was also creating the surprise of the night for holding Manchester United 1-1 at home. They could have won if not for the late goal from Carlos Tevez. It was Gigg's 100th Champions League match. Roma managed to beat Real Madrid 2-1 at home. Real always play dangerously in Europe because of their weak defence. Now that many are injured and Ramos is suspended for the return leg, it will be difficult for them.

One of the most anticipated matches was the Arsenal-AC Milan match. It ended pretty flat though as Arsenal dominated but failed to score, no thanks to Adebayor. Arsenal played to a 0-0 draw with Milan for their 100th Champions League match. Celtic were beaten by Barcelona with a 2-3 score at home thanks to Messi. Olympiacos and Chelsea played out a goaless draw.

NBA ALL-STAR 2008: EAST 134-128 WEST

LeBron James was the difference as he picked up the All-Star MVP for the second time by helping the East to beat the West. He scored 27 points (12-for-22 shooting), handed out nine assists, grabbed eight rebounds, blocked two shots and made two steals in the whole game.

The main 5: Jason Kidd (2 points), Dwyane Wade (14 points), Chris Bosh (14 points), LeBron James (27 points), Dwight Howard (16 points) and the explosion of Ray Allen (28 points), Paul Pierce (10 points) and Richard Hamilton (9 points) helped the East to the victory.

Apart from the All-Star game, the other famous competition is the Slam Dunk. Dwight Howard is the 2008 Sprite Slam Dunk champion. His Superman costume could have caught more attention than anyone else. Still, his dunks were superb.

BLU-RAY MAY WIN THE WAR

Right after seeing a few blu-ray writers in the Singapore market like Lite-On LH-2B1S 2X Blue-ray/DVD ReWriter (SATA) and Sony BWU-100A 2x Blue-ray/DVD ReWriter costing over S$1100++, I have a slight idea that Blu-Ray is plotting its assault well in the battle wtih Toshiba's HD-DVD. When no.1 computer maker Dell started to offer Blu-Ray Disc Drive on both its desktop and laptop lines, I am sure that Blu-Ray is going to dominate more. The latest piece of news below will roughly confirm that HD-DVD may lose the war against Blu-Ray once and for all. It is surprising that with the support of Microsoft and Intel, HD-DVD may still be not good enough to win the war. If Blu-Ray does win the war, they will dominate the price and it will take some time for it to drop.

Toshiba considering abandoning HD-DVD format

TOKYO: Japan's Toshiba is considering abandoning its HD-DVD format as it is losing the battle for market dominance against rival Sony's Blu-ray format, an industry source said on Monday.

Toshiba is reviewing its HD-DVD business and "a complete withdrawal is one of the options it is considering", the source said.

The move came after top US retailer Wal-Mart on Friday drove another nail into the coffin of HD-DVDs by announcing it would shift to exclusively selling movies on Blu-ray.

Weekend reports said losses for the company could reach tens of billions of yen (several hundred millions dollars) if it decides on the pullout.

The HD-DVD camp also includes Microsoft, Intel, Universal Home Studios, and Paramount Home Entertainment.

The battle between the two incompatible DVD formats for next-generation DVDs is often dubbed as a replay of the VHS-Betamax battle between two types of video cassette tapes in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Wal-Mart's decision came in the same week that major electronics seller Best Buy and online video rental giant Netflix declared their allegiance to Blu-ray.

The death of HD DVD has been heralded since January, when Warner Brothers studio – Hollywood's largest distributor of DVDs – pulled out of an alliance with Toshiba and switched to Blu-ray.

The electronics giant said on Monday it was assessing demand for its format but has not reached any decision.

"We have not made any official decision yet," a Toshiba spokeswoman said.

"We are cautiously assessing market movements as it is true that Warner Brother's decision to sell titles exclusively on Blu-rays affected our sales in January," she said, while declining to give further details.

Industry analysts and electronics makers maintain the format war has stifled sales of high-definition DVD players because consumers are waiting for a victor before putting down money for the expensive new technology.

The loser of the battle will become a mere footnote in consumer electronics history, much the way that Betamax was forgotten after VHS became the technology of choice for home video players, according to industry analysts. - AFP/so

FOOTBALL: PRE-CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEEKEND

As the Champions League competition resumes this coming week, let's recap the matches played through the weekend.

In England, the weekend was spent on the FA Cup Round 5. Manchester United thrashed Arsenal 4-0, Chelsea won 3-1 against Huddersfield and Liverpool lost 1-2 against Barnsley.

In Spain, Espanyol were beaten 2-4 by FC Sevilla, Real Zaragoza were beaten 1-2 by Barcelona while Real Madrid were bean 1-2 by Real Betis.

In Italy, Inter Milan bean Livorno 2-0, Juventus beat Roma 1-0 and Parma drew 0-0 with AC Milan.

The matches to be played are:

Schalke 04 VS. FC Porto
Roma VS. Real Madrid
Liverpool VS. Inter Milan
Olympiacos VS. Chelsea

Arsenal VS. AC Milan
Fenerbahce VS. FC Sevilla
Celtic VS. Barcelona
Lyon VS. Manchester United

First of all, the focus will be on Benitez. The once untouchable Liverpool coach who is now in danger of being sacked if his team does not perform well in the Champions League. Well, in fact, it was the Champions League that made him an idol in Liverpool so he has to perform no matter what. This is especially after a humiliating defeat in the FA Cup eventhough he rested some key players. As for Arsenal, the thrashing may or may not affect their morale in the league battle but they are going to face AC Milan. Arsenal will be happy to know that Milan have many key players injured.

AC Milan are more worried about Ronaldo it seems that the Champions League. For the last few days, football fans have been worrying about Ronaldo's injury. It could be perhaps the last chance we could ever see him playing competitive football. There were even speculations of him pumping full of anabolic steroids in order to build up the player physically to help him grow in his early days in PSV Eindhoven. As a result Ronaldo then developed muscles that were unable to co-exist with his knee’s bone structure, leading to devastating problems in later years.

Manchester United themselves are facing Lyon and should be able to play well. C.Ronaldo is still very much on form and Ferguson will be delighted to play the Champions League now especially after that morale boosting win against Arsenal. As for Chelsea, they have Terry back from injury and Lampard in scoring mood. This should be enough for them to play in the Champions League.

Barcelona won from controversial referee decision but they will face a tricky side in Celtic. Ronaldinho is back though so it could help them a lot at this crucial moment. Roma were defeated during the weekend but will face a weakened Real Madrid side which have no Robinho and many defenders out injured. Real themselves have a pretty bad away record of late so playing in Rome will be tricky for them as well. As for FC Sevilla, they seem

SOSAKU JAPANESE RESTAURANT

Since my disastrous Japanese meal during my last birthday, I tried over 3 other Japanese outlets. I told Lee Ling if the latest one (Sosaku) is gonna fail my expectations, I will give up eating Japanese food around Johor Bahru town and will try those in a few hotels around here that I heard of. Before coming here, I tried Sushi Don and Kinsahi, as well and both failed miserably for me to even want to return anymore. There are a few factors but ultimate reason is the lousy food. The diluted wasabi, tasteless miso soup, the ultra saltiness of some dishes and some of them turning out to be too soggy, the bad customer service, the extra charges, the expensive prices and the extreme waiting time.

Photobucket

RM35 for noon buffet, RM50 for night buffet.

Photobucket

The place was jam packed.

Photobucket

Sosaku only has the buffet style of dining. You pay RM49.91 inclusive of service charge and GST per person. There are no other choices. We were surprised when we were given the menu as there are no prices. When we enquired, they said you can order this and that, going on and on. I was getting confused until I asked whether the buffet is the only way to dine. Then, they told us they only serve in buffet style and we can order anything from the menu.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The place is quite tight with many groups of seats arrange in office cubicle style. There is probably at least one with tatami mat floor sitting style at the far corner end of the shop.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

-Every 100gm of wasted food will be charged at RM10.

Photobucket

Since its buffet style, a lot of items require self service. Miso soup is one of them and even so, it tasted excellent.

Photobucket

Saba sushi.

Photobucket

I ordered some sashimi. Maguro, sime saba and suzuki sashimi. They added the chuka idako on the same plate.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I ordered more sime saba sashimi as I just love the taste.

Photobucket

Sanma teriyaki or shioyaki depending on your preference was ordered 3 times by myself. I love it salty so I tasted the shioyaki version.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I love the bitter part, the dark black areas! Oh my!

Photobucket

Ham sushi.

Photobucket

Unagi sushi.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The salmon teriyaki.

Photobucket

Tobiko sushi.

Photobucket

Edi tempura, shishamo tempura and tempura escargot.

Photobucket

Kaki furai. Generally I don't like the tempura and furai versions as they are abit too salty for my liking. Kaki furai is still good though.

Photobucket

Edamame beans.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Kaki oyster shioyaki with saba shioyaki.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The shishamo was well done. No complaints.

Photobucket

The ice-cream was great too. Overall, a must try for Japanese food fans. I don't mind coming back again for another fish food marathon. The only complaint I have is the small dishes and the limited waitresses available which requires you to wait for a long time to get them. Many things like the wasabi, the soup and many items are not refilled fast or enough. You need to order many times until you are satisfied. The waiting is also quite long especially when the place is crowded so you must be prepared to waste at least 2-3 hours before you are satisfied of trying everything.

24 FEBRUARY AND 8 MARCH 2008

Channelnewsasia.com

Malaysians go to the polls on March 8

KUALA LUMPUR : Malaysians will vote in general elections on March 8, authorities said Thursday as the nation braced for a campaign dominated by ethnic tensions and anger over rising prices.

"The EC has fixed the nomination date for February 24 and polling will be on March 8," Election Commission chairman Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman said, a day after Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi dissolved parliament.

Abdul Rashid defended the short campaign period, which is in line with previous elections in Malaysia, which has been ruled by the Barisan Nasional multi-ethnic coalition since independence half a century ago.

"They can campaign from nomination date - it is more than sufficient time to campaign," he said, also denying charges that the ballot would be sullied by vote-buying and manipulation including phantom voters and postal vote fraud.

"Can anyone prove to us there is rigging? We are for fair elections. Rigging means you change the contents of the ballot box - can this happen?," he said. "There are no phantom voters."

Malaysia's opposition parties have attacked the timing of the polls, which are being held in advance of a May 2009 deadline, as well as the decision to dissolve parliament during Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations.

Dissident former deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim, who was sacked and jailed in 1998, said the government was attempting to sideline him by holding the ballot just a month before he is eligible to run for office.

Anwar said Abdullah was rushing to the polls after his approval ratings dropped to an all-time low.

"Malaysians are hard hit by rising prices, rampant crime, endemic corruption and heightened ethnic tensions. The longer that Barisan Nasional waits, the more seats it stands to lose in the general election," he said in a statement.

"Denying me the opportunity to contest demonstrates that the four-year track record of the Abdullah administration has been so banal, disappointing and characterised by failure that it can ill-afford to take any chances by allowing for a truly democratic electoral process."

The coalition grabbed 90 percent of parliamentary seats in a 2004 victory that came a year after Abdullah took over from premier Mahathir Mohamad who had ruled for more than two decades.

Since then, the premier has been criticised as weak and unable to carry out key elections promises like ridding the country of corruption which plagues business and politics.

However, there is little doubt the coalition will score another victory, and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said it was confident of achieving a majority of more than two-thirds.

"In fact more than the two-thirds hopefully," he told reporters late Wednesday.

Abdullah is grappling with a number of red-hot issues including friction between Malaysia's racial groups - the majority Muslim Malays, and ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities.

His government has also been rocked by unprecedented street rallies in recent months, targeting issues including electoral reform, alleged discrimination against Indians, and rising prices of fuel and food.

Abdullah has appealed for calm during the campaign in an apparent reference to the string of public rallies which police have broken up with tear gas and water cannon.

"My hope is that during the voting, nothing untoward will happen - there will be no disturbances or trouble that will affect the voting process," he said Wednesday. - AFP/ch

Anwar, Malaysian Opposition, Aim to Erode Majority (Update1)

Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Three Malaysian opposition parties plan to deny the ruling coalition a two-thirds majority in a bid to loosen the government's five-decade grip on power when the country holds elections scheduled for March 8.

``It will be a major, major battle ahead,'' Anwar Ibrahim, 60, a former deputy prime minister now aligned with the opposition, said at a press conference in Hong Kong yesterday.

The parties plan to take on Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's Barisan Nasional coalition by fielding a single candidate in most constituencies and to highlight Malaysia's crime rate, rising consumer prices, and government corruption.

``We'll be harping on these issues every single day,'' said Tony Pua, economic adviser to the Democratic Action Party, the largest opposition group in parliament. ``It shows a clear failure of the government.''

Denying Abdullah's coalition a two-thirds majority would be a historic shift in Malaysia politics, said Ooi Kee Beng, an analyst at Singapore's Institute of Southeast Asian Studies.

``If you want to amend anything in the constitution, you need two-thirds support from parliament, so that has become sort of a benchmark,'' said Ooi. ``More voices in parliament will be healthy for democracy. But the opposition will never come close to having power.''

Election Date

Malaysia's election commission today set March 8 for the elections. Abdullah, 68, who dissolved parliament yesterday, led his coalition to its biggest parliamentary victory in 2004. The opposition won less than 10 percent of the parliamentary seats.

Candidates will be nominated on Feb. 24, Election Commission Chairman Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman said at a press conference in Putrajaya, outside Kuala Lumpur, today.

The DAP, the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party and the People's Justice Party, which together won 19 of 219 parliamentary seats in 2004, plan to coordinate campaigns to ensure they don't take votes from each other. Anwar said yesterday the parties have agreed on a single candidate for 90 percent of the country's constituencies. The People's Justice Party is advised by Anwar and led by his wife.

Coordination among the parties is not yet complete, Anwar said. His party will field around 70 candidates, and the other two parties will run around 60 candidates each.

Winning a third of the parliament is just the start, said Din Merican, program director of the People's Justice Party.

``We have to project our image as an alternative government of the future,'' he said. ``We cannot continue to be a party of dissidents.''

Slowing Growth

Abdullah had to call an election before his government cuts gasoline subsidies, pump prices rise and economic growth slows, according to the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party, the only opposition group to hold power in one of Malaysia's 13 states, northeast Kelantan.

``They cannot face an election later in the year with the economic crisis happening in Malaysia,'' said Hatta Ramli, treasurer of the party. ``That is why they need a quick, fresh mandate before they raise the price of oil and other goods.''

Inflation in Malaysia accelerated to a 10-month high of 2.4 percent in December on higher food, alcohol and tobacco prices. Last month, Abdullah said the number of criminal cases rose 13 percent in 2007 as rioting, intimidation and extortion grew.

The government says Malaysia isn't alone in struggling with inflation. Prices of commodities including crude oil and wheat have soared worldwide, driving up the cost of everyday goods.

`Global Issue'

``The cost of living and increases in prices of goods is a global issue,'' Housing and Local Government Minister Ong Ka Ting, who leads the coalition's Malaysian Chinese Association, told reporters yesterday.

Malaysia's economic growth may weaken in 2008 to 5.4 percent from an estimated 6.1 percent last year amid a global slowdown caused by the U.S. housing recession, according to the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research.

Anwar, who is coordinating talks between the opposition parties, said there's another reason for Abdullah's early election call: excluding him from contesting. Anwar can't run for public office until five years after he finished a sentence for a 1999 conviction for corruption, a restriction that expires in mid-April.

``Prime Minister Abdullah is getting personal,'' Anwar said in an interview with Bloomberg Television yesterday.

Anwar spent six years in jail for charges he denies, after he was fired by then-Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in 1998. A sodomy conviction was overturned in 2004.

Abdullah is looking for a fresh mandate to implement the rest of his five-year, 200 billion-ringgit ($62 billion) spending program that runs to 2010. He has rolled out development zone blueprints to attract billions of dollars of investment to every corner of Malaysia.

MALACCA FOR DAY 2 AND DAY 3

We decided in the very last minute to visit Malacca on Day 2 of Chinese New Year. This is because we want to avoid the Sunday heavy traffic of Day 4. We got into contact with a few friends in Malacca but in the end, we only managed to meet two as we squeezed our 1 day visit to the limit! The jam was not so bad going to Malacca as I can achieve an average speed of 120km/h to the top speed of 140km/h. It was only when we were close to Ayer Keroh that the jam began to pick up.

Photobucket

Many hotels were fully booked but we finally managed to find one in Bachang, Malacca. We also managed to meet Uncle Andrew and family as they came for just a day visit. Our friend, Liza and her hubby, Lennard brought us out for dinner. The purpose of this trip is to eat ikan bakar (BBQ fish) or asam curry. They took us to Sungai Duyung but it was loaded with people. We later tried Umbai, another place which is famous for ikan bakar apart from Sungai Duyung and Serkam.

Photobucket

The dining area is beside the river with fishermen's nets and boats.

Photobucket

Unfortunately, our favourite fish, the stingray was out of stock.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The local dark green oysters, called kupang.

Photobucket

The style here is to serve the ikan bakar with nasi lemak.

Photobucket

As well as otah.

Photobucket

There were also a huge crowd here so we waited quite long for the main dishes to arrive.

Photobucket

The ikan bakar with the lovely sauce.

Photobucket

The fried version was just as good. The sauce topping it is great as well.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The local oysters after cooked.

Photobucket

Fried cuttlefish.

Photobucket

Both of our hosts invited us over for the traditional authentic Baba Nyonya Peranakan lunch. Lennard's mom was the chef.

Photobucket

Sambal is a must have for their meals. It is as important as kimchi for the Koreans. It was also the first time which I tried to eat the whole meal with my right hand. We asked Lennard to demo to us the correct way to eat. The experience of eating with the hand in my humble opinion makes you appreciate the food more.

Photobucket

This sambal added with lime and then mix with the rice before consumption.

Photobucket

Photobucket

When we returned from Malacca, the traffic was quite heavy. Still it was not so bad until around 80km away from JB, where I could only achieve an average speed of 40km/h. Apart from that, as always, the police were extremely hardworking during this time of the year.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our host, Liza and Lennard for their hospitality. Lennard's parents especially for inviting us to sleep over as well as to have lunch. It was really a great experience.

FOOTBALL: 7 GOALS & 8 POINTS LEAD

Real Madrid won 7-0 as they beat Valladolid in the latest match to open a 8-point lead at the top of the table. Robben was finally back from his injury and took over Ruud van Nistelrooy's place as he was injured. He got his first Liga goal and I hope he won't be affected by anymore injury problems till the end of the season. Real Madrid need more offensive options and Robben can provide that. Now, with Robinho injured as well, the need is even more crucial. It is nice to see Raul and Guti getting into the scoresheet apart from Baptista too. Drenthe scored one too as he came in to replace Robinho. Well, I just hope the team can cope with the absence of Robinho and van Nistelrooy.

As for the Premier League, Newcastle continued their crisis with another big defeat. Big Sam said he was too big for the club so he left. Manchester United lost to Manchester City while both Chelsea and Liverpool managed a draw. All these could only mean happiness to Arsenal as they held a 2-point lead at the top with a game in hand.

For the national team news, Egypt won the Nations Cup title with a 1-0 win against Cameroon. They retained the title yet again. As for Capello, his England won him his debut match 2-1 few days back against Switzerland. Great start for him and great to see him choosing players not base on fame but on form.

CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE

Photobucket

What is Chinese New Year without mahjong? Haha! Well, unfortunately, we only have 3 person so the game had to be modified to be played. It is just like poker as 4 people is the perfect count. We played before the reunion dinner and later all the way to the early morning of the New Year.

Photobucket

I was leading in the first round. Check out that +64!!! The bad thing about playing with 3 people is the ease to predict your opponents' tiles. The final total score after three rounds is LL: +64, CH: -82 and DH: +18. I had a very bad last round with all the big bros not coming to me. I had to struggle with winning small.

Photobucket

The initial preparation for 3 dishes increased when my bro dropped by. He proposed we should have fried rice and since we have some leftover bakwa, there is nothing to lose. We ended with a dish of abalone, 2 vegetable dishes and a steamboat. We also had longan and peach with 7UP and Shandy as dessert.

Photobucket

My bro cooking his fried rice.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

We had the abalone in the slow cooker since late afternoon.

Photobucket

We decide to have steamboat as the main dish.

Photobucket

Taiwanese sausage is one of the ingredients in the steamboat.

Photobucket

Japanese toufu.

Photobucket

Minced meat for the vegetable and mushrooms.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The sea asparagus is looking good.

Photobucket

Lee Ling in charge of the vegetable dishes.

The abalone served with cabbage.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We decided to use the dried bonito flakes, also called katsuobushi in Japanese in the steamboat. It was unfortunate that we forgot to have them as topping for the fried rice.

Photobucket

Fish maw for the soup.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The next morning, or should I say almost afternoon, we cooked the mee sua, a Foochow tradition dish to have for Chinese New Year with grandma's red rice wine. I guess the long noodle represent the long life we are wishing for. I may be wrong.

Photobucket

Chinese New Year is not so quiet in JB as expected. The battle at 12 midnight was quite good. We could hear fireworks everywhere as we also joined in the fun. As for the movies, we watched CJ7 and Ah Long Pte Ltd.
