HOW TO LEARN BASIC WRITTEN JAPANESE IN 2 WEEKS?

Anybody has a great idea of achieving it? When I asked my Japanese friend, he shook his head in disbelief. Haha! I'm trying to memorize kana, of both katakana and hiragana in one week. Then look at the common kanji.
