DIEHARDX GOES SOUTH KOREA DAY 5 OF 8
We left the hotel the next day to head to YongPyong Resort for some skiing experience.
Our local tour guide, Michael, with a balloon mascot of Lotte World beside him.
We went to a shop nearby to rent the ski wear. It was probably the cheapest rental period since we are already in spring time.
Check out their customizable fluorescent lighting system.
We had mushroom steamboat for lunch.
We rented the skiing gears and we were ready to go! Our tour guide gave us a very simple lesson on how to ski. It was my second time experiencing skiing and of course after a bit of recap, I finally remembered how to ski again.
After every try, I climbed higher and higher for the next one.
We were given around 4 hours. It was not enough time for us to enjoy it but better than nothing I guess.
My South Korean friend told me that at the highest peak at the resort, it would take you 30 minutes to reach the bottom for a full skiing experience.
You can see the ice melting as it was about time that the close down the skiing activity as they were already heading into spring.
As we were approaching the evening, we can see a very thick fog / mist heading our way.
The temperature was dropping drastically as it reached night.
We stayed in the Dragon Valley Hotel. There are seven choices of accommodation in the whole resort. This was probably my most favourite South Korea accommodation, with a breath-taking view of the skiing hills at full view. Really damn nice!
Incredible toilet seat for the comfort of all room guests!
The 'light bulb' interfering with the love relationship. Haha!
As you can see at that time, the temperature was around 4 degree Celcius.
The view of the resort for all 4 seasons.
We had our standard Korean dinner.
They lit up the trees at night.
A physical model of the whole resort.
The skiing hills.
We bought some Korean food and drink to enjoy!
It started snowing close to midnight. I tried my best to capture the fine snow.
The temperature was around -1 to -2 degree Celsius.
Alright, at times, the snow density was too incredible to be true.
The breath-taking view from our bedroom.
