(This is part of the 3 series of Kuala Lumpur food escapade I went just recently)

Ampang Yong Tau Fu ( also spelled yong tao foo, yong tau fu, yong tau foo, yong tow foo or yong tau hu) is one of the major famous food of Kuala Lumpur. I tried it once about 9 years ago. We went to the same place but it was sold out. The next best place to eat the best Yong Tau Fu is Ipoh Road. Many people said it is equally good. We went there instead and the whole place is basically an ancient bungalow with large compound for many parking spaces).

We ordered tauhu bakar (deep fried tofu) as side dish. It is fried to perfection and it will just ‘disperse’ as you bite it, melting down with your saliva.

The Yong Tau Fu soup and gravy version are both nice. We ordered bitter gout, fried tofu and lady’s fingers stuffed with fish meat, fish balls, dumplings and fried dumplings.

Every single one of them is good. There are no complaints and definitely worth a visit again. The fried dumpling especially is so well done I dare to declare that it is the best I ever tried. I wish to try Ampang Yong Tau Fu again in the future so I can compare with this one from Ipoh Road.
