FOOTBALL: 7 GOALS & 8 POINTS LEAD

Real Madrid won 7-0 as they beat Valladolid in the latest match to open a 8-point lead at the top of the table. Robben was finally back from his injury and took over Ruud van Nistelrooy's place as he was injured. He got his first Liga goal and I hope he won't be affected by anymore injury problems till the end of the season. Real Madrid need more offensive options and Robben can provide that. Now, with Robinho injured as well, the need is even more crucial. It is nice to see Raul and Guti getting into the scoresheet apart from Baptista too. Drenthe scored one too as he came in to replace Robinho. Well, I just hope the team can cope with the absence of Robinho and van Nistelrooy.

As for the Premier League, Newcastle continued their crisis with another big defeat. Big Sam said he was too big for the club so he left. Manchester United lost to Manchester City while both Chelsea and Liverpool managed a draw. All these could only mean happiness to Arsenal as they held a 2-point lead at the top with a game in hand.

For the national team news, Egypt won the Nations Cup title with a 1-0 win against Cameroon. They retained the title yet again. As for Capello, his England won him his debut match 2-1 few days back against Switzerland. Great start for him and great to see him choosing players not base on fame but on form.
