FOOTBALL: TORRES, ETO'O, BORRIELLO, EDUARDO & WOODGATE

Three of them scored a hattrick, one had a miserable broken leg and the other won the English Carling Cup for Tottenham. Of course, there are many who scored braces last weekend. Cristino Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Theo Walcott, James McFadden, Luis Fabiano, Roberto Stellone, Andrea Gasbarroni, Benedict McCarthy, Emanuele CalaiĆ² and Sergio Floccari all scored twice for their respective clubs in the English, Italian and Spanish leagues.

First of all, congratulations to Tottenham for slaying the giant Chelsea and winning the cup! Especially to Juande Ramos who just replaced Martin Jol four months ago. Marvellous! As for man-of-the-match Jonathan Woodgate, I just have to congratulate him for his deserving achievement. He just joined them on 28th January 2008 and barely a month later, yesterday, 24th February 2008, he scored his first ever Tottenham goal as well as the winning goal to lift the League Cup.

Secondly, of course congratulations to Torres, Eto'o and Borriello for their hattricks. Torres' goals will give Benitez more breathing space as he's heavily criticized for Liverpool's poor performance of the past few weeks. Eto'o's goals will give Barcelona more confidence as they close the gap further to lead leaders Real Madrid. Real Madrid lost shamefully to a goal which was taken as fast as possible when their players were still celebrating an offside goal. We'll just have to see how good Schuster is after the season ends as I am still unhappy with Capello's dismiss. As for Borriello, he scored his hattrick for Genoa against Udinese for the 3-5 score.

Finally, hopefully Arsenal can overcome the horror of Eduardo's injury and Eduardo himself will have a speedy recovery.
