So, the great Champions League master tactician, Benitez lost out in the Champions League. Many told me that Liverpool should forget about their Champions League dream this season and focus on the league.

Three reasons:
(i) they have the best form and chance this season. They trail Manchester United by just 1 point, Manchester United still have a match in hand.
(ii) their last league win (18th) is in the 1989-1990 season. The fans are waiting for far too long for the 19th.
(iii) Manchester United currently have 17 wins. If they let Manchester United to win the crown again this season, they will be tied with them in the record books of the English Premier League. It will be a big letdown if their record is being overtaken.

All the best to Liverpool in getting their 19th domestic league title. Manchester United will try their best to match their 18 domestic league titles.
