ARCHITECTURAL BOOKS
Basheer is the best bookstore to go if you are looking for architectural books and any graphical books. I am sure you guys will love it! Check out the link to find out yourself! They have all sorts of interesting and rare collections of books that will fascinate you. Located at Bras Basah Complex, Singapore, it is much better than Page One of Kinokuniya in terms of pricing and fast availability. From Monday to Wednesday, they had a book fair in my school and I was able to browse through some of the collections available for sale.
There is this book that Osc had been asking me to look out- The Master Architect Series VI SCDA Architects: the architecture of Soo Chan by the famous Robert Powell who has many architecture books published under his name. It was priced at S$108 in their bookstore but they give the students the price of S$80! It was a good pricing so finally he agreed to buy and I grabbed it fast! Don't kill me if you can find it cheaper in Malaysia. Haha! I will go through it and see how it goes when I have the time. A glance through the book shows the documentations of his projects built and unbuilt.
Then, I went to buy 2 Detail magazines, April and June 2004 issues. They offered both for only S$15 from the original price of S$28. One on the review of architecture related to urban planning details and another on review of architecture related to building with light. Seems alright to me as I browse through them.
Then, I also grab this Dec 2004 issue of Singapore Architect Special Edition 224 at S$17.50. It comes in two different copies. Hope it is a good read as well. There will be alot of reading to do to look through all of them.
