TWIN CARP BRAND BIRD'S NEST GINSENG WITH WHITE FUNGUS AND ROCK SUGAR
My roomate is so kind to give me these to drink. Now, I am not those rich kids who eat/drink abalones, bird nests, shark fins, expensive ginsengs and all those expensive herbal stuffs. These bottled drinks reminds me of those categories of essences. hehe!
I dislike Brand's Essence of Chicken very much. I remember coffee cannot make me awake, so my grandma recommends me to drink it when I was in secondary school. It tastes as bad as Guiness Malta to me. I had to stop breathing and consume it like drinking some very miserable herbal medicine that my grandma made me to drink when I was sick in the past. The taste will just make me vomit.
Now, essence of duck is for pregnant women and essence of fish is for consumption after surgery. Am I right? I am not good at these things. Maybe I get confused with both. Haha! I will never even try to smell those two, let alone drink them. I remember there is 1 more awful smell that I cannot take which is far worse than all these drinks.
In Secondary 4, I remember our biology teacher requested us to bring eyes to the lab during the study of the Eye chapter. I remember my group brought the eyes of the cow! When they try to dissect the eye, accidentally they cut the iris part and come out the black gel or perhaps a mixture from the vitreous gel from the white part of the eye, which is the sclera. I am not too sure but it is definitely black liquid like soya sauce. The smell is more terrible than vomit or even the most disgusting shit smell in the public toilet or some dead fish. I already lost my appetite just by explaining it right now. Anyway, I did not have lunch or dinner that day. I truly lost my sense of hunger and only gradually started eating abit the next day! It was that bad!!!!
Anyway, back to this bird's nest drink. I have not tried it but people always say it is believed to soothe the lungs and resolve phlegms and coughs. In other words, it will help clear your respiratory system from any mucus during a cold or infection, I think, haha! I am no doctor or pharmacy student. I always thought it is to give you extra energy and stamina like the essence of chicken. Oh well.......hope it tastes ok.
Btw, I heard it from the tour guide during my visit to the Mulu Caves that the more hairy/furry a bird nest is, the more expensive it is. That's the only thing I know about how to differentiate a good and bad bird nest quality. I know they have different colours too. That I don't know how to see. Hehe!
